New Consumer Insights: Shifting Priorities and Attitudes in the Market for Durables
We find ourselves in turbulent times - people are facing economic pressures, climate concerns, political polarisation and unrest, and many more issues that put pressure on consumers.
Since 2014, Glocalities has carried out eight waves of research, totaling well over 300,000 respondents from across the world. We dove into the results of our 2023 wave to see how consumers are responding to these pressures, specifically regarding the market for durables: products that consumers buy with the intention of using them for years on end.
We contrast European consumers with the rest of the world, and then zoom in on two of the larger segments within our model to see how these different kinds of people are responding to the changes in the world in different ways - from an increased focus on sustainability to increasingly demanding value for money above all, there's a myriad of responses and we're here to illustrate which ones are trending, and how to respond to these trends.
